I am very pleased to welcome you to our new school website. This website is intended to enable our pupils, parents and visitors to access a range of information about the life of our school.
We are all very proud of our school, its beautiful grounds, the community that we serve and its heritage in Wales. At the heart of our school is the belief that we all share a set values which help us to be respectful, responsible and caring members of society. We work collaboratively to ensure that all our children of all abilities and backgrounds have access to a broad and stimulating curriculum which will develop their skills and knowledge for the 21st Century. We aim to enable every child to maximise their potention, enhance their confidence and self-esteem and broaden their horizons.
Hendreforgan Community Primary School is part of Rhondda Cynon Taf Local Authority, catering for children aged 3-11 years.
We have extensive facilities including a school library, ICT suite, art studio, music room, community room and two halls. There are 8 main classrooms and several support rooms. Our larger main hall is multi-purpose hall, used for PE, music, drama, daily school assembly and dining. We place a high emphasis on the use of the outdoor environment - our Foundation Phase classes all have direct access to outdoor learning areas which are used daily to support a wide range of activities across the curriculum.
We have an active School Council, Eco-Committee and Parents and Friends Association. Children are provided with extra curricular activities including Netball, Football, Rugby, Tennis, Computers, Choir, Cooking and Reading. Some of these activities are provided through our close partnership with the Gilfach Goch Community Association (situated opposite the school).
We welcome parent helpers into school and encourage parents to support their children's learning at home. We hope that you will support the aims of the school and that you and your child find our school a happy and stimulating place to be.
