We believe that the most important factor in promoting good attendance is development of positive attitudes towards school.
Every month we award an Attendance trophy to the class with the highest attendance. We also award Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates to pupils each term with attendance between 97 and 100%.
Research shows that when pupils' attendance falls below 95% it will affect their achievement. Whilst our school attendance has continued to improve steadily over recent years, we still have some way to go towards our longer term aim of every pupil having attendance of over 95%.
In September 2014 the Local Authority have adopted a 'zero tolerance' approach to attendance. As a result headteachers have been instructed not to authorise any family holidays in term time except in specific circumstances.
